Precautions & Alternative Approaches
If someone has mild versions of any of the above conditions, they can still participate if they’ve consulted with and gained the OK from their GP. It would be advisable, however, to begin with a modified one-to-one session first.
If you have asthma, please bring your inhaler with you. If it is severe, please consult with your GP before coming.

The usual structure of the sessions begins with an introduction to the practice, including some time to try it out, ask questions, and consider your intentions or hopes from your time on your mat. We then move into an hour’s breath, accompanied by a beautiful soundtrack newly curated each time and matched to the season, for example: 'softening into winter’ or 'spring activation’.
We have a slow and gentle transition from the breath back into the room with each other. If you want to make a cup of tea and have a nibble of something tasty, you can go and find that in the kitchen and bring it back to the circle where you will find paper and pens/pencils/pastels which you can use to create a mandala of your experience or write about it if you would like to. There will also be cards you can turn to, or you might simply like to sit quietly and continue to listen to the music and have a stretch.
We will then come back together in a seated circle, and there’ll be an opportunity for people to share any insights or reflections they have. This is purely optional, but it can be very powerful to be witnessed.

Breathwork Open Group
As this practice can trigger strong emotional or physical responses, people with any of the following may be contraindicated from participating.
We run open groups for people to experience the profound effects of breathwork in a healing group environment.
We guide you through the conscious connected breath. This is a simple yet profound practice of allowing the breath to support whatever is needed at the time. It can be gentle and relaxing, powerful and transformational. It can help us access memories, deeply stored emotions, and different parts of ourselves while being held within a loving space.

FAQs
Group breaths can evoke a wide range of physical and emotional experiences. Each person’s experience is as individual as they are, and the session can unfold in diverse ways. No two breaths are exactly the same, but common experiences include:
-
Heightened Bodily Awareness: As you engage in rhythmic, continuous breathing, you might notice a release of tension and increased sensitivity to bodily sensations.
-
Emotional Release: The breath work can bring deep-seated emotions to the surface, such as grief, anger, fear, or joy that might want to be released through tears, laughter, or vocal expression. You might also experience profound feelings of love, gratitude, or connection.
-
Physical Sensations: It is common to notice sensations such as tingling, warmth, cold, or gentle shaking, which often signal the body’s process of releasing tension, stress, or trauma.
-
Energetic or Spiritual Experiences: You might notice a sense of energy moving through the body. Some people have spiritual or mystical experiences (oneness, encounters with archetypes, guides, or ancestors). You can also find yourself in a feeling of deep surrender or a shift in perspective. Many people feel a deep sense of relaxation and calm after the session, but you could also feel quite energised and inspired.
-
Try to avoid eating anything too heavy for two hours prior to the session and make sure you wear loose, comfy clothes.
We provide everyone with a mat, a blanket, and an eye pillow. Many people like to bring extra things to be extra comfy, such as an extra blanket, a couple of pillows/cushions, or even a sheepskin rug. You might also want to bring your journal if you have one to write your intentions beforehand and any reflections you have afterwards.
You can choose to either lie down or sit up for the practice. Some people’s bodies like to move/wriggle or shake during the session. That is perfectly okay, we just ask you to stay on your mat area to respect others’ space and keep yourself safe.
Absolutely. It will be an open-hearted group with friendly people, some of whom will likely have been before, but always also those who are new. You will be in good company!
There will be two of us, Aaron and Rosa, holding the space for up to 12 participants. This means that if you need support during the session, whether it’s a tissue, a hand to be held, reassurance, or a question answered, we will be there for you.
We give each person at the start a card with ‘no touch’ written on one side and ‘touch ok’ on the other and invite you to choose which you would prefer. If you choose ‘no touch’ we will leave you to your process, unless you raise your hand, in which case we will be right over to see what you need. If at this point you need a hand holding or a hug, that is totally fine.
If you choose ‘touch ok’, one of us will spend some time at one or two points during the session meeting you with very gentle touch around your feet or lower legs, your head, or shoulders. There will be no touch of intimate areas at any time.
Many people find that receiving hands on them during the session can enhance their experience with feelings of warmth or additional energy to support their process. Both Aaron and Rosa have trained in Reiki, so we will be touching you with the intention of channeling this healing energy.
If at any time you want to change your mind, you can say stop or move our hands away; we will not be offended.
